Ponsonby's application for another two year term in Division One was turned down and Ellerslie were promoted in their place.

1994
The clubrooms in Blake Street were sold. After debts were cleared, the proceeds from the sale were put into a trust fund and the club was left to run its own affairs.

1996
Arthur Langton coached the Under 17 team to the Auckland Championship and they became the first winners of the ARL's Roger Bailey Trophy..

1997
Richmond, Ponsonby and Mt Albert agreed to combine with City-Pt Chev to act as feeders for the Central Sharks in the Super Ten first division from 1998.

1998
Ponsonby United celebrates it's 90th anniversary.
